They are tooth-colored resins applied to the surface, which hardens once exposed to a special light. According to research, pediatric sealants can reduce the risks of tooth decay in children by up to 80%. Placing the sealant begins with washing, drying, and isolating the affected tooth using a rubber dam or cotton rolls. A special gel is applied to make the tooth surface rough and for the sealant material to adhere better. Dr. Abhinav Sinha

Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Abhinav Sinha, is the former Director of the Children’s Dental Health Center and Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College/New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) pediatric dental medicine residency program, where he teaches residents the latest advancements in practice management, ethics, and laser surgery.

Dr. Sinha has clinical expertise in all phases of Pediatric Dental Medicine, including treatment of children with special healthcare needs and complex oral rehabilitation under general anesthesia. He practices the full scope of his specialty and also has a unique interest in laser revision of tongue and lip ties, to aid infants in proper nursing/breastfeeding, as well as helping children achieve optimal dental, speech, and airway health.

Dr. Sinha lives with his wife and 3 children in New Jersey. When he is not busy fighting dental decay, using his magical laser to help children thrive, or teaching future pediatric dentists, he can be found happily trying out new restaurants, doing kettlebell workouts, or just hanging out with his family.
