Keith J. Heller, DDS, graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He pursued his education in dental medicine at New York University College of Dentistry where he graduated with honors. At New York University he was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Heller completed his general practice residency at NewYork – Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and was accepted to be a Chief Resident where he completed advanced prosthodontics cases and became proficient in implant dentistry. Today, Dr. Heller is on staff as an attending physician at NewYork – Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital where he practices general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry.

In his free time, Dr. Heller likes to try new restaurants, play golf, attend sporting events, and stay physically fit. He keeps current on new developments in dentistry by attending conferences, reading journals, and by attending monthly study clubs. He is currently a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association and the Second District Dental Society.

Dr. Danielle Bokhour

General Dentist

Danielle Bokhour, DDS, a native New Yorker, graduated from New York University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She then pursued her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University. Dr. Bokhour completed her general practice residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, and was asked to continue as a chief resident and attending doctor where she performed advanced cases. To keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry, Dr. Bokhour attends and participates in continuing education courses and seminars. Dr. Bokhour is committed to providing the highest quality of care, through her compassion and dedication to patients.

In her free time, she is an avid traveler, foodie, and fitness lover.

Dr. Bae’s favorite part of dentistry is the connection with patients. He loves hearing the words, “Nobody has ever explained it to me that way before”. He believes it is crucial for patients to be educated on treatment, procedures, and even modifications to everyday care.

Dr. Bae graduated from Kalamazoo College (Michigan) with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in biology and a minor in economics. After college, he worked as a program manager for a few years before heading to dental school. Dr. Bae earned his DDS at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He completed his General Practice Residency at Denver Health Medical Center.

In his free time, Dr. Bae can be found trying new restaurants, cooking, playing ice hockey, skiing, hiking, camping, or sleeping. It is important to him to be current and effective with dental techniques which is why he is excited to be a part of Metropolitan Dental Arts.

Dr. Calvin Tam

General Dentist

Dr. Calvin Tam is friendly, compassionate, and ready to help. Born and raised in San Francisco, he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at the University of California, Davis, and made his way to New York to complete his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at New York University. Upon graduation, Dr. Tam moved to Las Vegas to diversify his clinical experience, strengthen his diagnostic intelligence, and master his speed. With new skills and new mentors, Dr. Tam returned to New York for the ambitious energy, culture, and food. The person you see when you come in for the first time is what you’re going to see every visit.

His passions include hip hop, basketball, stand-up comedy, fishing, begging his wife for a dog.

Dr. Sahil Singal

General Dentist

Sahil Singal, DDS, completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biochemistry from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. Dr. Singal earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from New York University and then completed his general practice residency at Lincoln Medical Center.

His passion for dentistry stems from the keen interest in getting to know his patients on a personal level while being able to provide preventative yet essential quality dental care. Dr. Singal aims to include the patients throughout their dental journey and takes the time to compassionately explain how patients can better their oral health.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Singal can be found trying out new cooking recipes while also trying new fitness classes in NYC.

Dr. Jake Horowitz is approachable, genial, and excited to make his mark on the community. He’s a New York native who grew up on Long Island. After graduating from the University of Delaware, he moved back to New York to pursue dentistry and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Touro College of Dental Medicine in Westchester. Dr. Jake completed his general practice residency at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital where he was named Chief Resident. During this time, Dr. Jake performed advanced endodontic, prosthodontics, and oral surgery cases.

Dr. Jake enjoys playing recreational sports such as tennis and spike-ball. He’s an avid skier and has a passion for traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Bomi Cha

General Dentist

Dr. Bomi Cha earned their Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from NYU College of Dentistry, where she developed a passion for comprehensive patient care. Following dental school, she completed residency program at One Brooklyn Health, honing her skills in advanced dental techniques, patient management, and education on all aspects of general dentistry including restorative dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, pediatrics, emergency dentistry, and preventative care.

Dr. Cha believes in treating the whole person, not just their dental issues. She takes pride in creating personalized treatment plans that prioritize both health and aesthetics.

Outside of the office, Dr. Cha enjoys exploring new cuisines and experimenting in the kitchen. She also loves to travel, finding inspiration in different cultures and their culinary traditions. Whether at work or at home, Dr. Cha brings a sense of creativity and dedication to everything she does.

Dr. Lidia Movahedian attended Cornell University, where she was inducted into the Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society and co-founded the Pre-Dental Society for students interested in pursuing a career in dentistry. She continued her education at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, during which she devoted herself to community outreach and improving the oral health of underserved populations. She went on to complete a General Practice Residency at New York Methodist Hospital, where she had the opportunity to further explore all aspects of dentistry. She subsequently returned to Columbia University to complete a residency in orthodontics and obtained a Master of Science in Orthodontics.

In her free time, Dr. Lidia enjoys traveling, barre and yoga, as well as spending time with her husband and daughter, Lana.

An honor student, Dr. Jorge Matos attended New York University for his undergraduate and graduate studies. He then received his post-doctoral certificate in orthodontics from Boston University’s Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry.

Dentistry has become a family business—his brother is an oral surgeon, his sister is a pediatric dentist, and his wife is a periodontist. Orthodontics is something he wanted to do all his life: “I remember being impressed by my orthodontist when I was a child. Even then, I liked the conservative nature of orthodontics: full-mouth reconstruction using existing materials – the teeth. I think of it as healthful and green.”

Dr. Matos enjoys spending time with his wife, Vicky, and children, Sofia, Theodora, and John. He enjoys gardening and landscaping at his Long Island home, which is outfitted with an extensive solar array, providing clean and renewable energy to his and neighboring houses. He has maintained his family’s tradition of winemaking with his father and siblings at his parent’s house in New Jersey; brewing beer is another pastime. Restoring his antique car and music are also in the mix. His soundtrack? Classic rock’n’roll, old-school rap, and jazz.

Dr. Graig A. Fischgrund

Periodontist

Graig A. Fischgrund, DMD, is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He received his post-graduate degree from NYU College of Dentistry, where he completed his specialty training in the Department of Periodontology and implant dentistry. Prior to that, Dr. Fischgrund received a Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and continued his education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers), where he graduated from the DMD program.

Dr. Fischgrund is one of the few periodontists in the New York City area to learn and use the Pinhole® Surgical Technique. Additionally, Dr. Fischgrund is an attending periodontist in the Department of Dentistry, Division of Periodontics at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

Jared Miller, DDS, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida, earning a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology and microbiology in 2007. He moved to New York City the following year to begin his dental education at New York University’s College of Dentistry. After graduating in 2012, he furthered his knowledge with a general practice residency at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, where he remained for the next six years to pursue a specialization in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has received thorough training in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implantology, facial trauma, maxillofacial pathology, orthognathic surgery, and TMJ surgery.

During his final year of training, Dr. Miller served as Chief Resident of the oral and maxillofacial surgery service and was recognized as Resident of the Year. Dr. Miller’s current clinical practice is focused on dentoalveolar surgery, bone grafting, dental implantology, and maxillofacial pathology. He is a current member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association. In addition to his clinical practice, he has authored several publications on facial rejuvenation and maxillofacial trauma, and stays abreast of the latest developments in the field by regularly attending conferences throughout the country.

Dr. Miller is certified by the state of New York to provide general anesthesia, allowing him to offer intravenous and inhalation sedation to provide optimal comfort and care to his patients. He maintains current certifications in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, and advanced trauma life support.

During his spare time, Dr. Miller enjoys weightlifting, yoga, scuba diving, and spending time with his family, friends, and pets.

Dr. Bobby Bakhshoudeh, Endodontist in Brooklyn, NY at Metropolitan Dental Arts.

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Bobby Bakhshoudeh was born and raised in Long Island, NY where he received his undergraduate Bachelor in Science at SUNY Stony Brook University. Dr. Bakhshoudeh graduated NYU College of Dentistry in top 20% of his class, recognized through induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. He was also the sole recipient of The Samuel Charles Miller Award, recognizing a high degree of knowledge and skill in periodontology.

He completed a one-year general practice residency at Woodhull Medical Center, training in all aspects of dentistry, including implant placement and complex surgeries. Dr. Bakhshoudeh was then accepted into NYU’s two-year Advanced Education Specialty Program in Endodontics. Dr. Bakhshoudeh has participated in numerous international outreach missions, providing dental care to the underserved communities of Ecuador, Mexico and Nepal. He was awarded the Dentsply Resident Award for presentation of his research at the annual session by the American Association of Endodontics. He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics and an American Board Eligible Endodontist.

In his free time, Dr. Bakhshoudeh enjoys reading, traveling, and the outdoors. His passion for health and fitness helped him complete an Ironman Triathlon.

Dr. Christopher D. Higgins is committed to practicing patient-centered, evidence-based endodontics. He is known for his positive, calming demeanor and making patient comfort his top priority.

Dr. Higgins attended Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where he graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery and was awarded the Endodontic Excellence Award by the New York State Association of Endodontists. He continued his specialty education at Columbia University, receiving his Advanced Specialty Certificate in Endodontics. Dr. Higgins remains committed to staying up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry and maintains a national presence as a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, and the New York State Association of Endodontists.

Dr. Higgins specializes in non-surgical root canal therapy, non-surgical retreatment, endodontic microsurgery (apicoectomy), and the management of traumatic dental injuries. He is also experienced in regeneration, apexification, and internal bleaching procedures. Dr. Higgins takes pride in fostering quality patient experiences by combining skilled training with compassionate care. Originally from Miami, FL, Dr. Higgins enjoys spending time at the beach, routing for his Miami Heat/Dolphins sports teams, and exploring restaurants in New York City.
